Senior AWS and Linux Cloud Engineer, Associate Vice President About the Company Leading financial technology (FinTech) company specializing in investment & trading solutions Industry Financial Services Type Privately Held About the Role The Company is seeking a Senior AWS and Linux Cloud Engineer, Associate Vice President to join their Platform Infrastructure Group. This critical role is part of the Cloud Architecture Team and involves acting as the infrastructure architect with a focus on building secure, automated, and scalable AWS infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and implementing AWS best practices and security, as well as enhancing and supporting various cloud services. A key aspect of the role is to wear multiple hats, including that of an SRE, to troubleshoot performance and deployment issues and improve monitoring strategies. The position is highly visible and requires interaction with external stakeholders, so great communication skills are essential.

Applicants must have a minimum of 6 years of DevOps or SRE experience, with at least 4 years specifically in AWS. Experience in microservices, particularly with Docker and Kubernetes in a production environment, is a mandatory requirement. Strong knowledge of Linux OS, command-line, scripting, and configuration management principles is also necessary. The role demands the ability to code in Python or Ruby, with a preference for candidates who can demonstrate this skill. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing and implementing complex, yet easily managed, automated infrastructure, and should be proactive in continually automating and scaling the environment.
