GRS North America Construction Complex
team plays a key role in the success of our
Commercial Casualty
organization. Our responsibilities include determining coverage, investigating complex claims, assessing liability, setting reserves, negotiating settlements, and resolving claims. We seek a Senior Technical Claims Specialist with high expertise and sound judgment in complex matters, possibly acting as a subject matter expert in Construction claims. The role involves determining coverage, investigating claims, evaluating liability, setting reserves, negotiating, and resolving claims, specifically in Commercial Auto and General Liability for Construction Accounts, excluding Construction Defect. You will be required to work at one of the following GRS Claims Offices at least twice a month if residing within a 50-mile radius: Westborough, MA; Boston, MA; Hoffman Estates, IL; Indianapolis, IN; Lake Oswego, OR; Las Vegas, NV; Plano, TX; Chandler, AZ; Suwanee, GA; Syracuse, NY; Tampa, FL; or Weatogue, CT. This requirement may change. We are open to hiring at Senior Technical Claims Specialist I or II levels based on experience. Salary varies accordingly: Senior Claims Specialist I: $82,000 - $157,000 Senior Claims Specialist II: $92,000 - $176,000 What to Expect
Manage claims from coverage determination to resolution, including investigation, liability assessment, reserve setting, negotiation, and payment or denial. Review legal documentation and establish actions for lawsuit resolution. Determine loss coverage, amounts owed, discovery plans, reserves, and negotiate settlements. Coordinate with legal, defense counsel, and claims teams based on allegations. Manage outside counsel practices and billing. Ensure security of financial processing and claims information. Train and mentor staff; liaise with business partners such as Underwriting and Reinsurance. Stay updated on legislation, court decisions, and trends affecting claims and coverage. Analyze impacts on claims policies and advise management. Participate in special projects as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years claims adjusting experience. Deep knowledge of Commercial Casualty claims investigation, coverage, reserving, resolution, and legal environment. Strong skills in customer service, problem solving, communication, teamwork, and independence. Experience with Additional Insured, Contractual Indemnification, Risk Transfer, and claims over $500,000 is preferred. About Us
