Our client at Robert Half is seeking a top-tier Senior DevSecOps Identity Engineer / Architect to lead the design and implementation of secure workload identity solutions in a cloud-native environment. This role demands deep expertise in identity management, PKI, and DevSecOps practices, with a strong emphasis on SPIFFE/SPIRE architecture. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving zero-trust security models across AWS-based infrastructure. This is a six-month, remote, contract role. Requirements: Architect and implement workload identity systems using SPIFFE/SPIRE. Collaborate with DevSecOps and platform engineering teams to embed IAM into CI/CD pipelines and runtime environments. Design scalable service-to-service authentication mechanisms with minimal operational overhead. Integrate PKI systems, certificate authorities, and cryptographic protocols into identity frameworks. Define standards and best practices for identity lifecycle management in containerized and microservices environments. Lead security architecture reviews and provide hands-on engineering support. Diagnose and resolve complex identity and access management issues. Extensive experience in Identity & Access Management (IAM), particularly workload identity. Deep knowledge of SPIFFE/SPIRE architecture and implementation. Strong background in PKI, certificate lifecycle management, and secure key infrastructure. Proven DevSecOps experience, including embedding security in CI/CD and cloud-native workflows. Expertise in Kubernetes, containers, service meshes, and cloud security patterns. Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Go, Python, or Bash. Experience in large-scale enterprise or SaaS environments. Preferred Skills: Familiarity with zero-trust architectures. Knowledge of modern authentication protocols: OIDC, SAML, OAuth2, mTLS. Experience with security platforms such as Vault, Istio, Envoy, HashiCorp stack.
