Description 1898 & Co., a division of Burns & McDonnell, is seeking a Senior Solution Architect focused on Operational Technologies to provide utility grid modernization consulting services for electric utility clients. The candidate will join the Enterprise System & Integration team, delivering high-value enterprise solution services using leading technologies. The role requires strong electric utility business and technology acumen, with expertise in solutions such as ADMS, DERMS, IEC-61850 Digital Substations, BESS, and associated networks including LAN, WAN, and FAN. Candidates must demonstrate project execution skills, leadership, collaboration, excellent communication, and a focus on continuous improvement and enterprise innovation. The Senior Enterprise Systems Solution Architect will provide strategic guidance, develop roadmaps, and lead efforts to deliver architecture services aligned with clients' long-term visions. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and implementing technology solutions, leading project planning and execution, managing client relationships, and mentoring staff. The role also involves participating in sales, marketing, and proposal development, ensuring quality and compliance, and supporting safety policies. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with 7+ years of relevant experience (experience may substitute for degree). Skills in architecture and integration, including data, cloud, middleware, and communication architectures. Understanding of current and emerging enterprise technologies in IT and OT domains. Experience with project execution methodologies and leading-edge application solutions. Experience developing executive-level technology assessments and roadmaps. Preferred experience with electric utility systems such as OMS, ADMS, AMI, DERMS, IEC-61850, SCADA, and network infrastructure. Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. This position is located in the US with travel up to 25%. The posting remains open until filled.
