Job Summary: Our client, a global biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Foster City, CA, is looking for a
Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management
to oversee end-to-end sourcing strategies across multiple categories. This individual will drive supplier selection, contract negotiations (CDAs, MSAs, Work Orders), procurement planning, risk management, and supplier performance evaluation. The role also supports new product development sourcing and collaboration with internal stakeholders from manufacturing, quality, and development teams. Key Responsibilities: Lead supplier sourcing, selection, and contract execution processes (RFPs, RFQs, RFIs) Manage supplier relationships and performance, including issue resolution and business reviews Oversee procurement, PO placement, and inventory management Mitigate supplier risks and support make vs. buy decisions Partner with cross-functional teams across manufacturing, quality, development, and finance Lead or participate in site audits, assessments, and strategic projects Stay current on supplier capabilities and align sourcing with category strategies Report budgets, track accruals, and support operational excellence initiatives Qualifications: 8+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech or manufacturing, with strategic sourcing or supplier management experience Experience managing contract manufacturers and direct material suppliers Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP required) Knowledge of GMP regulations and CMC development process Strong negotiation, vendor management, and leadership skills Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills Experience with combination products preferred Project management experience or certification is a plus Ability to travel up to 20% (domestic/international) Seniority level
