MUST HAVES 7+ years of underground utilities construction project management experience Commute to Sterling, VA office and travel to projects within 90-miles of Sterling OSHA 30 certification (required) Qualifications 7+ years of experience in underground utility or heavy civil construction Proven ability to run multiple active projects or one major complex job Deep knowledge of utility installation, trench safety, shoring, duct banks, manhole systems, and storm/sewer/water scopes Strong leadership and communication skills — you manage the job, not just the paperwork Proficiency with Procore, MS Project, Viewpoint, Bluebeam, Excel Working knowledge of contract terms, change order negotiation, and subcontractor management OSHA 30 certification (required) BS in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent field experience Project Manager – Underground Utility Construction Locations:
Sterling, VA (On-Site w/ travel to project sites) Summary We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead underground utility construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. You’ll oversee multiple active projects, coordinate crews and subcontractors, manage the schedule and financials, and serve as the go-to contact for clients, field leadership, and internal teams. If you know how to run trench, duct bank, sewer, water, storm, and telecom scopes—and you're used to doing it at scale—we want to talk! Job Responsibilities Own all aspects of your projects: scope, budget, safety, manpower, and schedule Build 2–3 week look-ahead schedules and drive field execution against project milestones Coordinate self-perform crews, subcontractors, inspectors, and vendors Submit and manage RFIs, submittals, POs, change orders, and client communications Review drawings and resolve field-level constructability issues in real time Track costs, prepare forecasts, and manage project financials to hit margin goals Lead client meetings and job walks; be the face of the project from start to finish Supervise and mentor project engineers and support staff Enforce company safety policies and OSHA standards across all job sites Work closely with the General Superintendent to allocate shared resources and manpower Bring field teams, superintendents, and office staff into alignment through clear, confident leadership Schedule:
Monday–Friday (occasional Saturdays or extended hours based on jobsite needs) Travel:
Regular site visits within a 90-minute radius of assigned office Location:
