12 Month CTH Citizens and GC Holders are only being considered at this time 12 Month Contract - Client wants to convert to FTE at the end of 12 months 5 days onsite in Saratoga Springs, NY - some occasional travel to transmission sites will be required REQUIREMENTS: 5+ years of controls and protection engineering experience (Hardware focused) Designing, building, wiring, testing, and commissioning electrical systems Developing solutions including hardware specifications, logic diagrams, and schematics Experience with systems for rotating machines or similar systems such as utility controls systems or industrial controls systems Examples: high voltage protection systems, synchronous condensers, capacitors, rotating machines, substations, or grid-connected equipment Bachelor’s Degree: Electrical engineering, computer or software engineering, or engineering RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead development of custom protection and control solutions, including coding, hardware specifications, logic diagrams and schematics Lead development and execution of test plans for real-time digital simulation Conduct power system studies to support grid integration Be the lead contact liaison for technical issues for the customer and project manager Coordinate with sourcing and project team members on technical matters to meet project specifications, cost control and schedule objectives Interface with internal and external team members such as principal engineers, control engineers, civil engineers, electrical designers, project managers, engineering leaders and support organizations Lead the development of the controls scope for proposals, including writing and/or reviewing technical specifications, estimating design man-hours and materials, supporting sourcing for vendor quotations, directing designers and draftsmen on drawing requirements, and the development of clarifications and exceptions as well as technical responses Lead the development and execute cost reduction programs that vary in scope and may include low cost vendor selection, design improvements, process improvements, automation, and new product introduction Lead the performance of RCA's (root cause analysis) and execution corrective actions Support project quality procedures and initiatives including aspects of ISO9001 Seniority level
