Overview
At Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling
to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today's mission and stay ahead of tomorrow's threat. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. Raytheon Vision Systems is growing! RVS is a world leader in the research, design, and manufacturing of focal plane arrays and flight-based vision systems. We have an opportunity for a Sr Principal Semiconductor Yield Process Engineer to join a small team of senior-level yield engineers working on continuous technical progress and improvement while leveraging cross-functional representatives from the entire Operations team. This position will be primarily focused on Silicon Read-out Integrated Circuit (ROIC) yield improvement, working collaboratively with the ROIC foundries, IC Design, Test and System Engineering to improve ROIC yield as well as downstream FPA yield. This is an opportunity to utilize and expand your keen understanding of semiconductor processing, metrology, and failure analysis as well as your strong statistical analysis skills. What You Will Do: Monitor process and product yields across multiple ROIC wafer process lines at multiple ROIC foundries. Collaborate with all levels of stakeholders (chief engineers, IC design engineers, product engineers, ROIC foundry engineers, process engineers, technicians, etc.) to drive continuous improvement solutions. Lead RCCA and yield improvement teams and assist with scoping strategic initiatives to improve future ROIC performance at multiple foundries. Mine process equipment and metrology data, product data and characterization data to identify root cause and drive corrective actions. Perform statistical analysis of large datasets to find commonalities between similar ROIC designs and process flows, driving the organization toward applied intelligence and more automated use of big data. Identify potential yield-limiting defect sources and defining structured problem-solving activities. Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires a university degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or a STEM degree in a related field with minimum of 10 years of engineering experience or an advanced degree with 7 years of engineering experience. Experience in silicon process, integration, or yield engineering. U.S. Citizenship is required as only US citizens are authorized to access management system due to government contractual requirements. Qualifications We Prefer: Experience working in a semiconductor fab processing CMOS imaging sensor ROIC's as a process engineer, process integration engineer, or yield engineer. Experience working with database infrastructures and performing data analysis including JMP, Minitab, Tableau (or other related software). Experience leading teams through yield improvement in a semiconductor manufacturing environment to include technical writing and presentation experience
as well as experience organizing and forging teaming partnerships with all levels of Operations and Manufacturing stakeholders. Experience in infrared sensor development and electro-optic sensing system manufacturing. Experience with high mix precision electromechanical/semiconductor products in an Operations environment. Experience leading formal Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) or other structured problem solving activities. Experience performing or analyzing materials characterization and failure analysis data. Experience with Design for Manufacturing process, rules, and implementation in high mix semiconductor manufacturing environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to collaborate cross-functionally within RVS and with external silicon foundries. What We Offer: Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. At RTX we value: Trust, Respect, Accountability, Collaboration, Innovation, and Safety. Relocation Eligible
