Since 1963, their development portfolio has included more than 24 million square feet of commercial/industrial space, 80 multifamily communities, and 60 single family master-planned communities. The company has offices and/or development projects in Charlotte, Washington DC, Atlanta, Orlando, Nashville, Dallas, Denver, Phoenix and Salt Lake City. Position This Managing Director – Industrial Development (Market Leader) will be responsible for executing and significantly growing the company’s well-proven industrial platform, overseeing all industrial development operations. The executive will leverage the company’s substantial balance sheet, extensive capital relationships, positive industry reputation and established team to develop and high-quality industrial assets across Arizona, Colorado and Utah. This position reports to President of Commercial. Responsibilities Sourcing and execution of industrial developments while maintaining ultimate accountability and ownership for investment. Contribute to a collaborative and passionate team culture to execute successful projects. Identify and secure sites and/or existing buildings for the development of multiple industrial asset types. Leverage Crescent’s development teams located in nine offices across the country while also creating new footprints for the portfolio in institutional growth markets. Prepare and present industrial opportunities to the Investment Committee and Board of Directors while supporting the investment decisions of the firm. Represent the Crescent Communities brand and the Commercial Business Unit in maintaining and building industry relationships with debt, equity, and development partners. Work in cooperation with the Office and Multifamily teams to analyze and pursue large multi-use projects including urban infill sites with last mile industrial uses Deliver the optimal return on investment while achieving Crescent’s expectation of the highest quality product. Partner with centralized finance and construction support teams. Qualifications Successful track record of sourcing and developing high quality industrial properties. The candidate will have a history of sourcing opportunities, including establishing seller relationships, underwriting and assessing opportunities, submitting and negotiating purchase contracts and fully capitalizing a project. 8-10 years’ experience with at least 5 years development/project management background and a comprehensive understanding of real estate finance. Bachelor’s degree preferably in business, finance, real estate development, or related field An extensive network of brokerage, capital markets, design and consulting professional relationships. Personal Skills & Attributes Demonstrated leadership skills with a proficiency to motivate and mentor a team of internal and external resources. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to cultivate relationships across multiple markets to generate unique investment opportunities. Effective presentation, negotiation and communication skills to create consensus with teams, municipalities, sellers, investors and business partners. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and appropriately prioritize projects and tasks. Advanced computer skills using Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Seniority level
