Associate Attorney – Workers’ Compensation Defense, Employment Law, Wage & Hour Cypress, CA | Full-Time | Open to Remote Once Fully Trained Direct-Hire | Permanent Position Whether you're just starting out or bring years of experience, we encourage you to apply. Firm Overview Opening for an Associate Attorney in the firm's Cypress office. Our office handles cases in the areas of Workers’ Compensation Defense, Employment Law, and Wage & Hour.
Position Summary This is a permanent, direct-hire role offering strong mentorship, hands-on litigation experience, and room for professional development. The position will require the Associate to: Perform legal research Manage case files Draft correspondence to clients Draft pleadings Prepare and respond to discovery Defend and take depositions Communicate with clients, insureds, and outside counsel The Associate will work closely with Senior Attorneys and Partners, and will be supported by a Legal Secretary and Paralegal staff.
Candidate Profile Will work in a team environment Should have outstanding interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills Must be organized, detail-oriented, and conscientious of court deadlines Should maintain a positive disposition Looking to work hard to gain litigation experience Has exceptional writing skills Prepared to learn complex legal areas Has a JD and is admitted to the California Bar or is currently taking the bar
Compensation Package Base Salary Range: $100,000–$120,000 to start Salary increases incrementally once billing 100 hours/month Bonus Structure: $40/hour for billing over 225 hours/month $50/hour for billing over 250 hours/month Additional commission for new client acquisition and direct file referrals Bonus eligibility tied to billing compliance Benefits: Comprehensive health coverage including dental and vision 401(k) plan 2 weeks vacation plus sick time Private office for each attorney Strong support ratio: one assistant for every two attorneys, plus a dedicated paralegal and medical-legal clerk
