Signal Integrity Engineering Manager – Cable Backplane Systems Location:
Valley Green, PA Amphenol High Speed Products Group is a market leader in high-speed, high-bandwidth electrical connectors for Telecom/Datacom markets (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products enable the electronics revolution and are key for major Tier 1 OEMs globally. The Cable Backplane Systems business is the fastest-growing High Speed sector, seeking a dedicated Signal Integrity Manager to lead a team of 20+ engineers. RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead a team of signal integrity engineers designing copper-based I/O cable assemblies for high-bandwidth applications supporting data rates up to 448 Gbps/lane. Translate customer requirements into innovative product designs, oversee development, qualification, and transition to production. Collaborate with internal teams and global customers to define performance standards and ensure engineering excellence. Drive technology and product roadmaps, presenting solutions to stakeholders. Mentor and coach team members, fostering growth and clear communication. Share best practices and champion continuous improvement in design methodology. Address high-speed design challenges including signal integrity, simulation, and testing. Support sales and applications teams in developing product strategies based on signal integrity expertise. Assist global factories in ramping production, providing guidance on build methods and testing. QUALIFICATIONS: BSc in Electrical Engineering; MSc preferred. Proven experience managing high-speed signal integrity engineering teams. Experience with simulation tools like Ansys HFSS, CST Microwave. Experience with measurement tools such as TDR, VNA, pattern generators. Component design experience and application of high-speed cables/connectors is a plus. Strong communication and leadership skills. SKILLS: Excellent facilitation and team-building skills. Attention to detail with a focus on overarching goals. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects. Strong development process understanding. Systems-level mindset with detail orientation. Exceptional multitasking in fast-paced environments. Confidence in presentations to internal and external audiences. Drive to mentor and develop high-performing teams.
