Overview
The Cybersecurity Engineer serves a pivotal role in delivering advanced, enterprise-wide cybersecurity engineering and contract management support for the current and evolving organizational enterprise. This position ensures the secure design, implementation, and continuous improvement of security controls and strategies aligned with federal, DoD, and agency-specific cybersecurity requirements.
This engineer will integrate cybersecurity principles throughout the systems development lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams to embed security into architecture, cloud migrations, data systems, and operational technologies. The role also includes leading and managing cybersecurity contracts to ensure delivery milestones and compliance objectives are met effectively.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing cybersecurity solutions across enterprise systems and environments.
- Supporting Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes, including development of System Security Plans (SSPs) and continuous monitoring activities.
- Applying Risk Management Framework (RMF) practices to assess, authorize, and monitor IT systems.
- Coordinating with stakeholders across engineering, cloud, and security teams to integrate secure systems and operations.
- Overseeing and managing contract deliverables, schedules, and resource allocation aligned with cybersecurity mission objectives.
- Providing recommendations and oversight on Identity and Access Management (IAM), security operations, and compliance controls.
- Minimum 12 years of IT experience, with at least 10 years in Government cybersecurity.
- Expertise in cybersecurity requirements definition, systems analysis, cybersecurity testing, and evaluation.
- Hands-on experience in: Identity and Access Management (IAM), Risk Management Framework (RMF) implementation, Continuous monitoring and ATO support, Project and contract management.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and security operation centers (SOC).
- Demonstrated leadership and coordination skills for multi-team engagements.
- Bachelor's degree (4-year) in Information Technology or a related field.
- IAM Level III certification (e.g., CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, CCSP).
- PMP certification or equivalent Project Management training.
- Active Top Secret Clearance.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States of America. Sponsorship will not be a part of this contract
- Must successfully complete a Blue Sky and customer background screening
