JOB DESCRIPTION
TMZ is seeking a results-driven Social Media Manager to execute social media strategies, develop content, and manage distribution channels to enhance brand reach and engagement. The role requires a passion for celebrity news and a proactive approach to social media management, working closely with internal teams to ensure a consistent brand voice across platforms. The position is based in Los Angeles, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of TMZs social media profiles on Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, and other platforms.
- Collaborate with the Director of Social Media to develop initiatives that increase buzz, engagement, and traffic across TMZ properties.
- Create and implement short-term and long-term social media content strategies.
- Write engaging social media content and captions aligned with the TMZ brand, incorporating SEO best practices.
- Monitor social media trends, tools, and benchmarks to measure impact.
- Generate reports and analyses to assess audience growth and campaign effectiveness, providing insights for future strategies.
- Act as a brand ambassador, engaging with audiences and fostering community dialogue.
- Work with research teams to analyze results and recommend strategic improvements.
- Identify and pitch news stories from social media for potential coverage.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of social media management experience in media or related fields.
- Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, advertising, or a related field.
- Deep knowledge of social media platforms and tools.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to guide teams and educate departments on social strategies.
- Understanding of SEO principles and content writing for social media.
- Interest and knowledge in celebrity news and pop culture.
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
- Experience with advertising campaigns on social media is a plus.
- Background in editorial, marketing, or PR is beneficial.
- Thick-skinned, persuasive, and humorous personality.
