Jobright.ai Amazon is seeking a talented and motivated Software Development Engineer to join their satellite engineering team at Project Kuiper, which aims to deliver fast, reliable internet through a low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. In this role, you will develop custom software tools to enhance engineering capabilities and streamline processes, collaborating closely with hardware and systems engineers. Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain custom software tools to support various engineering tasks and workflows • Collaborate closely with hardware and systems engineers to understand their needs and requirements • Implement efficient and scalable solutions for data analysis, simulation, and automation • Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment • Optimize existing tools and processes to improve productivity and efficiency • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members • Document software designs, APIs, and user guides for developed tools • Stay up-to-date with the latest software development technologies and best practices Qualifications: Required: • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience • 1+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience • Experience programming with at least one software programming language • Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred: • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent Company: Amazon is a tech firm with a focus on e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence.
