This role is for an experienced Data Engineer specializing in Microsoft Azure and its associated data services, with a strong focus on utilizing Microsoft Fabric, PostgreSQL, Power BI, and both ETL and ELT methodologies. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable and efficient data pipelines and solutions to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives. Responsibilities: Design and Develop Data Pipelines: Design, build, and maintain scalable and robust data pipelines leveraging Azure Data Factory or Fabric pipelines and Lakehouse architecture for efficient data ingestion, transformation, and integration from diverse sources. Implement ETL/ELT Processes: Develop and optimize ETL/ELT workflows within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, utilizing relevant Fabric solutions and tools like Azure Data Factory, Spark SQL, and Python for data cleansing, transformation, and aggregation. Manage Azure Data Services: Effectively utilize and optimize Azure data storage solutions such as Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, and other Azure services to ensure high performance and cost-efficiency. PostgreSQL Expertise: Demonstrate deep expertise in PostgreSQL, including writing and optimizing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts, as well as managing and troubleshooting database performance. Data Modeling and Architecture: Design and implement logical and physical data models (e.g., star/snowflake schemas) that support business intelligence and analytics initiatives Power BI Integration: Collaborate with BI Developers and data analysts to design and implement robust data models and datasets to support Power BI reporting and dashboarding, enabling self-service analytics and insightful visualizations. Data Quality and Governance: Implement best practices and validation techniques to ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability throughout the data lifecycle, adhering to data governance and security standards. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with data architects, data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and ensure efficient data delivery. Monitor and Troubleshoot: Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance, data storage, and processing issues within the Azure environment to ensure reliability and maintain high availability. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5+ years of proven experience in data engineering, preferably within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Lakehouse architecture. Deep expertise in SQL (T-SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL) including query optimization, indexing, and stored procedures. Experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and integration. Proficiency in data modeling techniques (e.g., star/snowflake schemas) and understanding of data warehousing concepts. Experience working with Power BI for building reports and dashboards. Familiarity with data governance, security, and privacy regulations. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or Scala is a plus. e/o/e Seniority level
