Visa USA Inc., a Visa Inc. company, needs a Staff SW Engineer (multiple openings) in Los Angeles, CA to: Develop, test, and document software programs. Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of engineering applications and products. Support and/or install software applications/operating systems. Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Perform code reviews to verify changes meet development requirements and deploying and staging code in development environments. Develop database queries, or code that generates queries and fixes bugs found in existing codebases. Contribute to authoring large project deployment procedures Develop large applications independently and designing multi-tier solutions. Produce highly scalable, high performing applications. Help preserve goals and business requirements. Position reports to the Los Angeles, California office and may allow for partial telecommuting. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, followed by 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a software engineer-related occupation. Alternatively, a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a software engineer-related occupation Position requires experience in the following skills: Core Java and Java web application development for RESTful web services; Object-Oriented Design Principles and design patterns; Understanding and authoring APIs; Spring Framework; Build Tools, such as Maven; Practice in Test-driven Development; Docker; Kubernetes; and Kafka or similar tool that enables asynchronous data processing, such as Kinesis or SQS. Worksite: Los Angeles, CA This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs. This position does not require travel. This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers. The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $176,134.00 USD to $199,300.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
