About The Team The Data Platform and Observability Engineering team supports real-time insights across Workday’s platforms. We develop large-scale distributed data systems, managing hundreds of terabytes of data daily, to enable crucial analytics and insights. Role Responsibilities Develop internal data products and identify opportunities for new data initiatives. Create foundational analytics tables with standardized schemas. Lead AI/ML-based correlation engine development for outage detection. Evolve the data platform towards AI/ML-powered insights. Design correlation engines for root cause analysis. Implement anomaly detection systems using ML algorithms. Build a self-service platform for advanced analytics and ML use cases. Manage cross-functional projects, utilizing advanced data modeling techniques. Innovate with next-generation ML and AI platforms. Evaluate new open-source and cloud-native tools. Qualifications Basic 5+ years managing impactful data science/analytics teams. 10+ years building large-scale distributed analytics systems. Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Proven track record of delivering scalable data products. Other Experience with big data tools (Hadoop, Spark, SQL, etc.). Strong coding skills in Java or Python. Data visualization expertise (e.g., Superset, Looker). Cloud experience (AWS/GCP) and infrastructure automation. Self-starter with ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills. Compensation & Benefits Base salary ranges from $201,600 to $302,400, depending on location and experience. Additional benefits include bonuses, stock grants, and comprehensive benefits.
