The HRIS Business Analyst serves as a consultative liaison between cross-functional HR teams and technical HRIS teams. He or she identifies and documents the business needs, collects, confirms and writes business requirements for Workday system enhancements and projects, and oversees the implementation of solutions inside the Workday system. Actively partners with outsourced HRIS resources to deliver solutions. This is a non configuration role. Position Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional HR teams including Talent Acquisition, Benefits, Compensation, Payroll, Talent Development, HRBP, HR Operations and the business to understand our business strategy, processes, services and roadmap to maximize our Workday system and drive success Elicit requirements from functional HR teams through interviews to understand the current process and the desired result Understand, communicate and plan for Workday cross-functional system touchpoints and impacts around configuration, business processes, reporting and integrations Work in partnership with functional HR and technical team members to ensure successful translation of business needs into technical system requirements and acceptance criteria Set up technical teams for success by writing comprehensive business requirements Serve as a key collaborator between HRIS, HR functional teams and the outsourced HRIS vendor on the implementation of Workday system changes to ensure successful implementation Perform testing and validation of deliverables prior to functional team user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure requirements are met Assist in coaching and supporting functional teams with UAT and end-to-end testing considering downstream impacts, tracking testing progress, pass/fail and feedback; ensure appropriate data sets are available for functional teams Obtain all required UAT documentation and approvals needed for production deployment Provide input to help functional HR and technical leads prioritize system enhancement requests on the roadmap Work with functional HR and technical teams to educate, prepare and test for upcoming Workday releases Serve as the liaison with the training department to educate users on how to navigate and use the system Create documentation and materials to support user adoption Continually build awareness and knowledge of Workday system and new functionality Understand and promote data governance and ensure attention to data quality Understand and ensure security and data privacy standards Other projects and duties as assigned Requirements: Education & Experience: Bachelor ’s degree in Human Resources, Information systems or Computer Science or equivalent experience plus 3+ years of experience and knowledge of Workday (across multiple products) and extensive knowledge of HR business processes and functions Ideal candidate will have significant experience with Workday reporting, security, and integrations including vendor coordination for end-to-end testing Workday post implementation experience required Knowledge of IIBA /PMI – Business Analysis Standards and/or equivalent certification preferred Experience with waterfall and agile project methodologies Experience with Jira/Confluence preferred Exceptional analytical ability, strong technical, problem solving and business intelligence skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong customer service orientation, demonstrating a full understanding of the needs of the customer and ability to develop strong relationships across functional and technology teams Effective presentation skills to communicate complex information clearly Must thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where planning, organization, time management and prioritizing is necessary Must possess the ability to work independently or as part of a team on assignments Seniority level
