For nearly 100 years, Phillips Industries has been making a difference in the lives of its customers. As one of the oldest and most highly regarded suppliers in the commercial vehicle industry, it has built a reputation on producing best-in-class air and electrical components. By starting with the durable, high-quality line of products that Phillips Industries is known for, Phillips Connect’s advanced telematics solutions are easy to install, intuitive to use, and scalable for the future. We used our decades of experience in heavy-duty trucking to create an open platform that consolidates sensor data from leading manufacturers into one integrated and intelligent system. The suite of Phillips Connect hardware and software is like nothing else on the market, designed to be an integrated solution for use with any size fleet. Our tracking and management products increase driver uptime, safety, and ROI, while providing complete transparency into the status of an entire fleet, all in real-time. Our solutions deliver actionable data and insights in the most critical conditions, saving your fleet time, money, and lives on the road. Position Purpose & Focus The Sr. Hardware Test & Validation Engineer plays a key role in hardware development by owning the design review, test execution, and system-level performance of our PCB-based electronics. This is a hands-on role requiring deep technical expertise, leadership in debugging, and strong collaboration across electrical, embedded, and manufacturing teams. You’ll lead the development of hardware test strategies, improve design validation processes, and ensure each product meets functional and quality expectations from prototype through production. Lead hardware design reviews and provide expert recommendations to optimize performance, manufacturability, and testability. Participate in PCB schematic and layout reviews, ensuring adherence to internal design standards and best practices. Own and execute comprehensive hardware test plans covering board bring-up and system-level validation. Test and qualify PCB-level hardware, supply regulators, battery charging circuits, GPIOs, sensors, and other hardware interfaces. Collect and validate detailed power measurements and operational data across multiple operating conditions. Specify and validate performance thresholds—including voltage, temperature limits, ESD protection, and environmental tolerances. Test and verify custom wiring harnesses and connectors to ensure compliance with electrical and mechanical specifications. Take ownership of system-level behavior, identifying and resolving interactions between electrical, firmware, and mechanical components. Develop and maintain detailed test documentation, including procedures, reports, and issue logs. Contribute to continuous improvement of hardware development and validation processes, with a focus on Design for Test (DFT) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM). Work closely with cross-functional teams (electrical, firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing) to resolve hardware issues and support product release readiness. Mentor junior engineers or technicians, sharing technical expertise and guiding best practices. Education: Required:
