Background:
Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT), a provider of advanced cloud-based integration, automated testing, and data analysis for complex, mission-critical systems in the US Department of Defense (DoD), is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer (Anti-Submarine Warfare Lead Systems Engineer) based in Fall River, MA. The role involves leveraging software automation, model-based systems engineering (MBSE), and AI capabilities to enhance defense systems.

Overview:
We are looking for a Surface Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Lead Systems Engineer with expertise in SONAR systems, particularly AN/SQQ-89 and ICP. This position will lead digital integration efforts for next-generation surface ship acoustic systems, including system virtualization, hardware emulation, and real-time modeling within an Integrated Digital Engineering Environment (IDEE).

Responsibilities:

• Architect and manage integration of virtualization, emulation, and simulation components to create a digital twin test environment.
• Develop strategies for validating system-of-systems representations across surface combat platforms.
• Act as the primary liaison with Navy stakeholders to align system requirements and optimization efforts.
• Integrate ATRT AEP into surface combat systems for mission execution within virtual test beds.
• Maintain and update digital representations and test environments in line with operational needs.
• Identify gaps in digital transformation initiatives and lead innovative solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years in defense digital systems development, integration, and testing.
• Expertise in active/passive SONAR systems, especially AN/SQQ-89 and ICP.
• Knowledge of DoD operational and tactical networks.

Required Skills:

• Experience in defense system integration, virtualization, and testing environments.
• Ability to translate complex requirements into effective solutions.
• Leadership skills managing technical teams through system phases.
• Support for acoustic kill chain integration and ASW digital transformation.
• Ability to operate in classified environments securely.
• Strong relationships within the ASW community.
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms like VMware or KVM.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams under constraints.
• Engagement with Navy leadership and stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Preferred Skills:

• Operational experience with ASW CONOPS, surface/submarine platforms, tactical systems like SWFTS, Aegis, AN/BYG-1.
• Familiarity with ONI missions and acoustic kill chains.

Pay Range: $164,000 - $273,000 or $198,000 - $328,000, depending on experience and education. This range excludes bonuses and benefits.
