GE HealthCare is seeking a Staff Software Engineer specializing in Embedded/Firmware to join their innovative medical technology team. This role is part of a global team developing real-time control software for industry-leading MR Scanners. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge medical devices while designing and implementing distributed control software for next-generation components and subsystems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in embedded software development using C++ and object-oriented design principles. You'll be working with state-of-the-art MR hardware and embedded software technologies, leveraging DFR for software, and applying Agile and Lean methodologies. The role involves all phases of New Product Introduction (NPI), from concept to service support. As a Staff Engineer, you'll lead projects with multiple team members, collaborate with global engineering teams, and play a crucial role in mentoring junior engineers. The position requires strong technical skills in embedded systems, real-time operating systems, and Linux environments. Experience in medical device development and working within a Quality Management System (QMS) is highly valued. Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field 8 years of experience designing and developing embedded software using C++ and object-oriented design Experience with continuous integration and automated testing preferred Experience in embedded system troubleshooting using standard tools Experience working with a Realtime OS such as VxWorks Experience using a Linux development environment and containers Experience in regulated environment with documentation requirements Experience working on medical devices within a Quality Management System (QMS) Benefits For Staff Software Engineer - Embedded/Firmware
