Sterile Processing Technician (Levels I-III) / Sterile Processing Aide Location:
Hyannis, MA Duration:
13 Weeks Contract Pay Rate:
$25 - $35 per hour Type:
Contract Key Responsibilities Safely decontaminate and disinfect instruments and clinical equipment using appropriate methods and solutions Sort, disassemble, rinse, and process instruments according to standard procedures Use count sheets to accurately assemble instrument sets Wrap, containerize, peel-pack, and label instruments as required Conduct thorough inspection of instruments for cleanliness and function Manage sterile supplies and equipment handling and storage Retrieve, deliver, and track supplies and equipment accurately Apply appropriate sterilization methods based on item requirements Document sterilization loads and test results accurately Operate sterilization and cleaning equipment, including steam sterilizers, ETO, Sterrad, Steris I, ultrasonic cleaners, and heat sealers Perform equipment functionality testing using approved devices Assist in ordering, receiving, and stocking department supplies Monitor inventory and report shortages or concerns Support clinical staff with SPD-related needs and inquiries Participate in department training, meetings, and education Work independently, managing tasks without direct supervision Participate in on-call rotations as required Maintain a clean, organized work environment Deliver consistent, professional service to staff, patients, and visitors Perform additional related duties as assigned Qualifications
Sterile Processing Aide: High School Diploma or GED required Basic computer skills and ability to communicate effectively in English Strong interpersonal and communication skills Completion of a Medical Terminology course or successful completion of the facility's medical terminology exam Sterile Processing Technician (Levels I-III): Candidates must meet
one
of the following:
Completion of an Anatomy & Physiology course (high school level or higher) Successful completion of the facility's Anatomy exam Certified SPD Technician 3 years of recent Sterile Processing experience with ability to obtain SPD Technician Certification
