Job Title:Student Success Partner Department:Social Work | Faculty Affairs The MSW Student Success Partner plays a vital role in fostering student success and enhancing the overall MSW experience at the College of Social Work and The Ohio State University is. This position focuses on engaging and mentoring admitted MSW students, with an emphasis on supporting students facing academic or personal challenges, to enhance student engagement, retention and satisfaction. The Success Partner will also collaborate with the College’s Lead Academic Success & Enrichment Specialist and the MSW Program Office to implement initiatives that prioritize MSW student well-being, connection and academic success. Desired qualifications: Master’s degree in Social Work; a minimum of 3 years’ post-graduate work experience. The candidate must be able to work independently, be a strong writer and effective communicator, and demonstrate the ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds. Experience with advising, counseling, or coaching students. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, ability to work in a collaborative environment, have flexibility, and adaptability. Responsibilities:
Assists students with the transition into the College of Social Work and OSU. Provides individualized coaching and support for MSW students. Collaborates with students to help identify their personal and academic strengths and challenges and assists them in developing a plan for their success in the MSW program. Works closely with faculty, advisors, and field practicum staff to coordinate care and education planning and monitor student progress. Connects students to campus resources and support services. Serves as the liaison for Graduate Bridge Program (GBP) students and creates individualized success plans for students with conditional admission. Provides enhanced assistance to students identified by the Early Alert System. Attends Student Performance Reviews and supports students per the recommendations of the Performance Review Committee. Guides students with procedural documentation. Participates in student success initiatives and data tracking. Collects qualitative feedback from students about their academic experiences and support needs. Participates in MSW Team, MSW Committee, and Student Success meetings. Participates in orientation activities. Other duties as assigned. The target salary will be $55,700 to $72,700 annually. The actual salary will fall within this range based on the candidate’s qualifications, internal equity, and the unit’s available budget.
