Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Systems Administrator to join a National Defense Contract in Fairfax, VA through 100% on site presence. The Systems Administrator will step into a mission-critical role where innovation meets national security. The Systems Administrator will lead the charge in managing, cutting-edge, high-performance computing environments across secure lab sites. The Systems Administrator will be at the forefront of integrating advanced technologies that power classified operations. Responsibilities of the Systems Administrator include: Administer & maintain Linux (RHEL) & Windows systems, including virtual machines & embedded platforms like VxWorks Support secure lab environments & classified networks, ensuring compliance with RMF/JSIG & cybersecurity standards Perform system patching, updates, and vulnerability scans using tools like Tenable, across both internal & customer-facing systems Troubleshoot complex hardware/software issues, including server recovery, application support, and infrastructure transitions Automate system tasks & configurations using scripting languages such as PowerShell Integrate & manage COTS applications & tools (e.g. Cadence, Atlassian, DOORS, GitHub) within a high-performance computing ecosystem Provide hands-on IT hardware support, including setup and maintenance of switches, routers, server racks, and HPC equipment Qualifications of the Systems Administrator include: 9+ years of experience in lab/test environments supporting Linux & Windows systems, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting Strong hands-on experience with IT hardware - switches, routers, HPC systems, server racks, and network equipment Proficient in virtualization & system administration tools, including VMware, Active Directory, & GPOs Experience with embedded Linux platforms like Wind River VxWorks Scripting & automation skills using PowerShell or similar tools Security+ certification & solid understanding of RMF/JSIG compliance standards Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph & CI Poly within the last 5 years Compensation for the Systems Administrator includes: Salary Range: $150,000-210,000 depending on experience Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k Plan, Holidays, PTO, sick leave as required by law
