Server Platforms & Ecosystem Development
We are seeking a versatile and technically strong Hardware Engineer to lead server selection, testing, and ecosystem development efforts for next-generation computing platforms. This role involves close collaboration with OEMs, component suppliers, and cross-functional internal teams to deliver validated and optimized server hardware solutions. Key Responsibilities: Evaluate and select server platforms based on thermal, mechanical, and performance requirements Plan and execute hardware validation including power, thermal, firmware, and system-level testing Manage technical relationships with OEM partners and key component suppliers (CPUs, memory, NICs, etc.) Lead sourcing efforts to ensure supply chain readiness, compatibility, and cost optimization Drive integration of servers into custom cooling or enclosure systems, including immersion or liquid cooling Develop and maintain a robust hardware ecosystem roadmap aligned with system architecture and product goals Author clear technical documentation and present findings to stakeholders across engineering and product teams Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field 4+ years of experience in server hardware design, selection, or validation Deep understanding of x86 server platforms, BIOS/firmware, and industry-standard form factors (1U/2U/OCP) Proven experience in sourcing or vendor management, with strong OEM and supplier engagement skills Familiarity with high-performance systems and advanced cooling (air, liquid, or immersion) is a plus Strong hands-on testing and debugging skills using lab instrumentation and diagnostic tools Excellent communication and organizational skills; able to coordinate across hardware, thermal, and systems teams Travel up to 20% Preferred: Experience working with hyperscaler, ODM/OEM ecosystems (e.g., Supermicro, Dell, HPE, Foxconn, etc.) Knowledge of supply chain processes and component lifecycle management Familiarity with server qualification processes (e.g., burn-in, reliability testing, thermal compliance)
