Senior RPG Support Programmer
to join a mission-critical IBM i (iSeries) legacy environment. This position is
support-focused , emphasizing
production support, debugging, and ongoing maintenance
of mature legacy systems. Candidates must be
local to Livonia, MI
and available to work onsite
Tuesdays through Thursdays
weekly. Responsibilities: Maintain and support RPG applications on the IBM i (iSeries) platform. Resolve production issues via
ServiceNow
ticketing system. Debug legacy RPG code and perform production recovery operations. Participate in
Agile ceremonies
and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Troubleshoot integration issues across multiple systems. Use internal documentation and knowledge bases for resolution acceleration. Engage in
knowledge transfer
and
paired programming . Lead code reviews to ensure alignment with business and technical needs. Required Qualifications: 10+ years
of experience in
RPG development
for enterprise transaction applications. Strong background in
production support , debugging, and troubleshooting. SQL and Embedded SQL CL Programming All RPG Versions (including RPG IV/ILE) ILE Concepts Batch and Online Development XML DB2
and programmatic data access Preferred Qualifications: Experience with: Web Services Integration Complex System Integrations Agile SDLC methodologies Nightly Batch Cycles & Recovery Procedures Seniority level
