Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, Maintainable and delivered on time. We are seeking a Manager, Systems Engineering - System Safety Engineering Section Lead to add to our existing System Safety Engineering team. As an on-site Manager, Systems Engineering - System Safety Engineering Section Lead, you will guide employees within their career experience at Raytheon, as well as taking on responsibility for growing into and taking ownership of a technical discipline as a subject matter expert, developing and reviewing effective proposals, estimating on-going costs, and ensuring best practices are executed within all programs. As a Manager, Systems Engineering - System Safety Engineering Section Lead, you'll lead a team of engineers who are at various levels of experience and are responsible for design through sustainment of products for System Safety Engineering. This job is 100% ONSITE at our Tucson, AZ campus. What You Will Do: Employee performance development and assessment. Employee growth, productivity improvement, and recognition. Personnel issue resolution. Ensuring compliance with company policies/procedures. Ensuring all personnel are properly prepared and trained for the scope of their tasks and leveraging best practices across all programs. Reviewing system safety work products for completeness and quality. Preparing and reviewing system safety bids. The ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program clearance. Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires: Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum of 8+ years of relevant Safety, Systems or Software Engineering experience Minimum 5+ years of system safety experience Experience ensuring compliance with company policies / procedures Experience reviewing system safety bids Experience reviewing system safety work products for completeness and quality Experience with proposal or capture experience Leadership experience Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Qualifications We Prefer: Familiarity with management of program support, subcontractor oversight, and customer relationships Familiarity with Performance Development process Experience across the entire product life cycle including capture, development, production, and sustainment Ability to motivate team members by providing an open environment conducive for each employee to reach his/her full potential Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to multi-task. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
