Sr Advanced Project Engineer (FAA) (Finance) The Global Production Engineering Services (GPES) team has an immediate opening for the position of Sr. Advanced Project Engineer. The position is responsible for creating and managing avionics product design changes and providing avionics product design expertise to sustain and grow Honeywell's Aerospace Technologies business. The position is based in Phoenix and involves daily collaboration with staff distributed globally across different product design centers and factories. The GPES team focuses on improving supply chain performance by maintaining and enhancing designs for a variety of avionics products currently in manufacturing. Key Responsibilities Use advanced avionics knowledge and engineering discipline to complete engineering tasks. Provide design expertise to support teams of product design engineers, test design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and production staff to resolve issues related to product design, modifications, upgrades, customer and supplier investigations, obsolescence, and test system design changes. Support product transitions from development to manufacturing and obtain design authority delegation. Review and approve class II product changes using delegated design authority, coordinating with internal and external customers for approval and notification. Contribute to field failure investigations, counterfeit parts investigations, export/import classifications, and failure reporting and analysis systems (FRACAS). Provide material review board (MRB) engineering disposition authority for nonconforming parts. Communicate directly with customers and suppliers about product design efforts to resolve issues such as supply disruptions, defect escapes, warranty claims, and in-service failures. Support funding for capital purchases by demonstrating business impacts like ROI, payback period, and NPV. Mentor junior engineers and help define and revise engineering processes within the GPES team. Must Have Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics). At least 8 years of experience in the avionics or electronics industry. Ability to estimate business impacts of engineering solutions. Self-motivation and independence in resolving complex problems. Knowledge of avionics systems such as cockpit displays, autopilot, GPS, radios, radar, transponders, and flight recorders. Understanding of FAR 21 and FAR 145 regulations. Familiarity with DO-160 and DO-254 guidelines. Understanding of configuration management for products and test systems. Ability to learn and comply with import/export regulations (EAR and ITAR).
