Principal Software Engineer @Freed Our client, Freed, is transforming healthcare with AI tools that make clinicians' lives easier. Their first product an AI medical scribe is already used by over 20,000 paying doctors, generating 70,000+ notes daily. Backed by Sequoia Capital, they're expanding fast with new products and a growing hybrid team in NYC and SF. The mission is simple : build tech that helps doctors focus on care, not admin. Freed is looking for a Principal Software Engineer who is fast, ambitious, and mission-driven. Someone who thrives in high-ownership, fast-moving environments and wants to build meaningful AI products that reduce clinician burnout. You'll take the lead on key features across the stack, driving impact from backend to frontend, and have the opportunity to shape how cutting-edge AI is applied in real-world healthcare settings. In this role you'll be : Owning and implementing product features end-to-end across React / TypeScript and Node.js Building AI-first experiences using large language and speech models Collaborating with PMs, designers, and engineers in autonomous, cross-functional teams Running experiments to validate ideas and improve software quality Making technical decisions that balance speed, scalability, and user impact About you : 5+ years of full stack engineering experience, with a strong product mindset Track record of high performance in fast-paced, high-ownership environments Comfortable working with React, TypeScript, Node.js, SQL, and Azure Curious about LLMs and how AI can augment software development (e.g. Copilot, ChatGPT) Passionate about building tech that makes a real difference in people's lives Nice to have : Experience in healthcare or working on clinician-facing products Familiarity with AI model fine-tuning, inference optimization, or prompt engineering Previous experience in startups or high-growth environments Why this role : Competitive salary (up to $250K, flexible) and equity in a high-growth company Opportunity to make an immediate impact Medical, dental, and vision coverage Unlimited paid time off Company-sponsored annual retreats Looking forward to hearing from you! #J-18808-Ljbffr
