POSITION SPECIFICS The Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications at The Pennsylvania State University has an exciting opportunity for two tenure-track, open-rank faculty positions in Public Relations within the Department of Advertising and Public Relations. Appointments will be made at a rank commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, commencing in Fall 2026. We're looking for outstanding candidates who can inspire and equip students to excel in public relations and other strategic communications fields. This involves teaching critical skills in ethical decision-making and the rigorous planning process for strategic campaigns. Ideal candidates will have a strong interest and proven ability to teach our new Strategy and Ethics course, in addition to other introductory and advanced courses. Appointees are expected to engage in active research and provide valuable professional and academic service. There are also opportunities to teach and advise graduate students within our college-wide program. All applicants must hold a Ph.D. in communications or a related discipline by the time of appointment and have demonstrated potential for active research. Candidates for senior-rank appointments are expected to have an outstanding record of scholarly achievement. Relevant professional experience will be a strong plus. Committed to excellence in education and research, the Department of Advertising and Public Relations offers multiple degree programs, led by an innovative and productive faculty. We are one of four departments within the Bellisario College of Communications, recognized as one of the nation's largest accredited communication programs. The college is home to the Arthur W. Page Center for Integrity in Public Communication, a prominent national leader in researching and promoting ethics and responsibility in communication.
