Primary Purpose This position provides guidance on historical designs, fosters innovation toward standardization, and offers technical leadership while mentoring engineers. Transmission Overhead spans over 5000 circuit miles, overseeing projects at 69kV, 138kV, 345kV, & 765kV, involving clearance analysis, PLS-CADD Modeling & Design, and modifications or new installations of transmission structures, switches, and conductors. The role requires complex coordination with stakeholders such as FAA, environmental groups, permitting bodies, and municipalities, with added complexities due to FERC and NERC compliance. Knowledge of PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER, and FAD Tools is essential. The position may require extended hours during storms or emergencies. Primary Duties Perform engineering tasks on critical projects or multiple smaller projects with complex features. Work in areas with incomplete or lacking engineering precedents, requiring broad experience. Develop and implement projects with moderate financial and operational impact. Serve as an expert in specific areas, including delivering training or mentoring. Job Scope Influence project decisions with moderate impact, including leading employees or contractors in commissioning electrical systems. Apply technical knowledge to promote safety and enhance customer satisfaction. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's in Engineering or Licensed Professional Engineer. Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems. Knowledge of engineering principles, problem-solving, and complex field test equipment. 4-7 years of professional engineering experience. Knowledge of regulations, standards, codes, and advanced engineering principles for complex assignments. Related career experiences or Engineer in Training status, or advanced technical degree progress. Preferred Qualifications Graduate degree or work in Engineering, Business Administration, or Project Management Certification. Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
