American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position with strong L&D clinical skills and BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP certifications.Job Details•Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a hospital with 21 beds and 3 OR/recovery rooms,•Patient population includes labor inductions, preterm, multiple gestations, preeclampsia, postpartum hemorrhage, IUFDs, and recovery of C-sections,•Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2,•Unit manages at least 400 births per month,•Floating required within Women's Services based on census and skill set,•Uses EPIC EMR, PYXIS medication management, and SBAR communication tools,•12-hour night shifts with every other weekend required,•Contracts offered for 13 weeks with option for 36 or 48 hours per week,Job Requirements•Active NC or Compact RN license required at time of start,•Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience,•Certifications required: BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP,•Experience with EPIC charting system required,•Must have experience with IV starts, circulating in the OR, labor inductions, multiple medication drips including Pitocin, Mg, insulin, C-section recovery, and caring for patients with preeclampsia and postpartum hemorrhage,•Must be able to recover C-sections independently,•References from two recent supervisors required by start date,Additional Information•Responsibilities include IV starts, L&D patient care, labor inductions, C-section circulator duties, and postpartum recovery,•Orientation includes 2 days unit training and 2 half-days in the OR plus EPIC training,•Scrubs are provided,•Candidates may be required to float to affiliate hospitals in the region,•Only natural hair colors are permitted per dress code,•First-time travelers are welcome,•No RTO allowed during the first week; up to 7 days off is auto-approved outside of holidays, with holiday coverage required for 2 of 3 major holidays,•Candidates with a permanent address within 50 miles are offered at a lower local rate,•Past permanent or PRN staff must be gone for at least 12 months to be eligible for travel roles, pending rehire approval
