Job Description Job Title: Perioperative Circulator Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Adult Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of one (1) year experience in an acute operating room environment, including level 1 trauma. License: Current RN License and Basic Life Support certification. Certifications: Current RN License issued by the state board of nursing or a current multistate compact RN License. Must-Have: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work effectively as part of a team, knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
Description: The Perioperative Circulator is a registered nurse who plans, coordinates, delivers, and evaluates nursing care for patients during operative or other invasive procedures. Using clinical knowledge, judgment, and clinical-reasoning skills based on scientific principles, the perioperative nurse implements nursing care to address the physical, psychological, and spiritual responses of the patient. The cirulator is responsible for the direct and indirect provision of professional nursing care in the operating room. This role involves ongoing evaluation and documentation of all components of care delivered to patients within the perioperative environment utilizing the nursing process. Patient care is individualized according to health status, age level, and surgery or procedure being performed. The position may also involve other assigned duties as needed.
