Trident consulting is hiring Hardware Engineer
Job Title: RF Hardware Engineer
Duration: 9 Months
Location: San Jose, CA- Onsite
Type: W2 Contract
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Wireless Hardware Engineer to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in hardware product development and testing, with a strong background in RF and microwave systems, automation, and data processing. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, test, and certify wireless products across various technologies, including WLAN, LTE, 5G, and beyond.
Responsibilities:
- BSEE (MSEE preferred) with 5+ years of experience in HW product development and testing
- Proven expertise in automation and data processing software such as Python, C++, MATLAB, and LabVIEW
- Hands-on lab and test experience with microwave and measurement equipment (Network/Spectrum Analyzers, Power Meters, Signal Generators, Wireless Sniffers)
- Strong knowledge of RF front-ends, antennas, filters, amplifiers, switches in the 450 - 7125 MHz range
- Familiarity with wireless networking fundamentals, path loss/channel models, and traffic generation
- Experience with schematic and PCB layout tools such as Cadence
- Willingness to learn microwave simulation tools like ADS, CST, or HFSS
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of wireless standards (WLAN, BLE, LTE, 5G FR1/FR2, WPAN)
- Experience in testing against specifications, creating test plans, and supporting certification processes globally
- Ability to work with cross-disciplinary teams in RF, hardware design, and compliance
- Practical soldering skills for small components and familiarity with electronic CAD and MCAD files
