This is a full-time tenure-track position as an Educator in the Graduate Practice Program within the MUSC College of Nursing focused on education and facilitation of students through the Doctor of Nursing Practice degree (DNP) scholarly project, from scientific underpinnings and problem identification, through analysis and dissemination of results via a poster presentation and submitted manuscript. The qualified candidate is expected to support the college's teaching mission through didactic teaching in the MSN and DNP Programs. Responsibilities include facilitating an asynchronous online teaching and learning environment, implementing innovative, competency based online teaching strategies, implementing curriculum as part of a team and participating in ongoing and annual curriculum reviews and changes that support contemporary trends and requirements in graduate education, leading or working on faculty team(s) to develop and modify academic courses to ensure ongoing quality improvement and mapping of the AACN Essentials for Nursing Education, assuming the role of Course Coordinator and other duties as assigned, maintaining communication with course coordinators, faculty colleagues, and administrators, maintaining APRN credentials, licensure, and national certifications required to practice as an APRN, maintaining a record of scholarship through dissemination, presentations, and publications that are consistent with the college appointment, promotion, and tenure (APT) guidelines, facilitating DNP scholarly project work as assigned, attending course, program, and college meetings in person or via web-based technology, adhering to MUSC College of Nursing policies, and maintaining proficiency as an educator and clinician. Physical Requirements include the ability to perform job functions in an upright, seated, and walking/mobile positions, work indoors and outdoors in all weather and temperature extremes, work in confined/cramped spaces, perform job functions from kneeling positions, squat and perform job functions, perform 'pinching' operations, fully use both hands/arms, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, reach in all directions, maintain tactile sensory functions, lift and carry 15 lbs., unassisted, lift objects up to 15 lbs., from floor level to height of 36 inches, unassisted, lower objects up to 15 lbs., from height of 36 inches to floor level, unassisted, push/pull objects up to 15 lbs., unassisted, maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes, see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance, determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception, maintain good peripheral vision capabilities, maintain hearing acuity, with correction, and perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements.
