Overview
Supports Huntsville Hospital users by providing Unix services. Handles troubleshooting on Unix workstations and servers. Coordinates the implementation of new Unix systems and workstations, and maintains existing Unix workstations. Responsible for formulating backup strategies, Unix security, and administering TCP/IP addresses. Manages data transfer to and from the Unix interface hub. Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred, with emphasis in Computer Science. Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree. Experience: Five or more years of hands-on experience in the use and daily maintenance of TSM (Tivoli Backup Systems), AIX operating systems installation and support, and Unix operating systems support. Additional skills/abilities: Extensive experience in administering TSM, AIX, and Unix systems. Experience with the installation and administration of enterprise storage and Storage Area Network platforms, including Dell/EMC Unity, VNX, Isilon, and Storwise. Knowledge of managing Cisco SAN equipment. Hands-on experience with installation and administration of virtual backup solutions such as Data Domain. Knowledge of LAN technologies, especially communication concepts, protocols (TCP/IP), and techniques. Experience with system installation via SAN and disk-based backup methodologies. Ability to analyze and coordinate multiple technologies effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
