Cyber Security Systems Engineer/Linux System Administrator - Huntsville, AL
Minimum Starting Salary: $95,000/Year (Actual salary based on experience and qualifications). This full-time, direct hire, salaried position with Moseley Technical Services, a top defense company, offers the opportunity to maintain the smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, coordinate with network administrators, set up administrator and service accounts, maintain system documentation, tune system performance, install system-wide software, and allocate storage space. Responsibilities
Ensure reliable and secure operation of multi-user Linux systems supporting DoD environments. Configure and manage administrator and service accounts. Maintain system documentation and implement performance tuning. Install, update, and manage system-wide software. Allocate and manage storage resources across systems. Coordinate with network administrators to optimize performance. Evaluate and recommend hardware/software solutions. Coordinate installations and manage backup and recovery strategies. Develop and enforce computing resource usage policies and standards. Provide technical support and interface with users and stakeholders. Qualifications
U.S. citizen with Active U.S. DoD Secret security clearance. Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math). 2+ years of experience administering Linux systems (e.g., Red Hat Enterprise Linux RHEL). DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE). Desired Skills
Experience with RHEL and Cisco Networks. Experience with Red Hat Satellite servers and configuration. Experience with VMWare ESXi, VMWare vCenter. Experience with LAN and WAN management. Familiarity with Network Technologies and Cybersecurity. Strong systems administrator experience in Linux environments. Experience with scripting (Python, Perl, Bash, PowerShell). Experience with network administration and infrastructure. Hardware installation and maintenance experience, including firmware upgrades. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
