Water Operator in Training
or
Water Operator Grades I to IV
to join our team and play a crucial role in our Field Operations department.
Job Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS for
Operator in Training:
Assist Operators with performance of all required job duties
Take and record instrument readings
Collect samples and perform routine laborartory analysis
Maintain Utility tract through general clean up and wash-down facilities
Perform routine tasks with hand tools (shovels, rakes, etc.)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS for
Water Operator I - VI:
Operates and maintains the water/wastewater treatment facilities as required by city, state, and federal guidelines;
Assists with water and wastewater line repairs, new line installation, and other work as directed.
Inspect and maintain pumps, motors, valves, and other plant equipment in working order, troubleshooting problems as they arise.
Performs routine tests on water treatment facilities including tests related to the treatment process, chemicals, pumps, motors, and routine water quality sampling.
Documents plant performance including daily flow, well meter readings, and chemical dosage and usage.

Work Experience Operator in Training :
Entry level
Water Operator I - VI:
Most hold a current Water Grade IV license with the Alabama Department of Environmental Management. 3 years of directly related experience in water and/or wastewater system operations, maintenance, customer service, and experience operating mowing and lawn equipment.
