Weapons System Engineer

KBR requires a Weapons Systems Engineer, located in the Dayton, OH, area to support the Simulators Division (AFLCMC/WNS) for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC). The Simulators Division is responsible for the lifecycle logistics elements associated with acquisition, training, and sustainment of simulators fielded at operating locations around the globe. Mission areas include integrated logistics, engineering support, post-production upgrades, supply chain management, support equipment sustainment, readiness and cost reduction management and business operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop reports and briefings
Evaluate and assess subsystem and system specification and technical documentation (including data, test plans, and reports) in support of the Simulator/Training System
Assist with evaluation of technical risk, assess contractor efforts, performance progress, and resolution of technical problems
Plan and participate in Technical Interchange Meeting (TIMs), Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (including SRR, PDR, FCA, PCA, etc.), and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams
Using Microsoft Office suite of applications/tools to develop and publish products for senior executive review, coordination and approval
Support timelines for both quick-turn and longer-term projects and tracking progress through completion
Preparing senior leader(s) for meetings and engagements, ensuring all relevant information is conveyed and understood to support discussions and decision-making
Perform other duties as assigned by management

Travel Requirements: Occasional travel required (15-20%) to various contractor and user locations

Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in electrical/software engineering and directly related experience is required
Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), particularly Cameo Models is required
DoD Clearance Requirement: Secret, upgrade to TS will be required
Knowledge of systems engineering principles, development of verification and certification requirements, and understanding the Air Force's acquisition processes
Self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills
Sound communication skills with customers, end users, and analysts to provide recommended contractual language to specific test-related sections of solicitations
Working with geographically dispersed teams to produce documents and presentations for senior executive and stakeholder consumption
Engaging with customers at both working and senior levels
Developing and executing project/program plans from tasking through completion using common IT tools and practices
Professional writing skills
Sound communication skills with customers, end users, and analysts to provide recommended contractual language to specific test-related sections of solicitations

Desired:
Engineering experience with Operational Training Simulation, Training Planning and Management, Payload systems (F-15, F-16, F-18, UH-1, or Apache), and/or DoD Certification (interface control documents, tracking weapon system compliance to sponsor capability production documents)
Experience working in the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center or other DoD organization
Work Experience with NAWCAD-NAVAIR and familiarity with Next Generation Threat System (NGTS) is desired but not required
