Job Title:
SVP – Commercial Lending About the Opportunity This is a relationship-focused community bank with a strong and growing presence across the Dallas/Fort Worth market. As part of their continued expansion, they are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Lender to lead the development of their Commercial & Industrial (C&I) lending portfolio. This is a strategic, high-impact role ideal for a proven producer with deep ties to the DFW business community and a passion for helping local businesses grow. Position Summary The SVP – Commercial Lending will be responsible for originating and managing C&I loan relationships, with the flexibility to include some owner-occupied commercial real estate. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong credit acumen, business development skills, and a collaborative mindset. This is an onsite role based in the DFW area and offers visibility, autonomy, and potential for leadership. Key Responsibilities Develop and grow a high-quality C&I loan portfolio through proactive business development. Build and maintain strong relationships with business owners, referral sources, and centers of influence across the DFW area. Structure, negotiate, and close commercial loans tailored to client needs. Partner closely with the bank’s Treasury Services and other internal teams to deliver comprehensive banking solutions. Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and industry shifts to inform strategy. Conduct preliminary credit analysis and collaborate with underwriting for sound credit decisions. Ensure adherence to internal credit policies, regulatory standards, and risk management practices. Depending on experience, may take on leadership responsibilities within the lending team. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years’ experience in C&I lending; community bank experience preferred. Established network and presence in the Dallas/Fort Worth business market. Demonstrated ability to originate, structure, and manage complex commercial loan relationships. Familiarity with owner-occupied CRE lending is a plus. Strong credit analysis skills and understanding of regulatory compliance. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities. Entrepreneurial spirit with a strong drive to succeed. Leadership or management experience is a plus but not required.
