We are looking for an experienced and technically adept IT Consultant with expertise in Wintel platforms, Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure, and VMware virtualization technologies. This role is ideal for a hands-on strategic thinker who can assist in complex infrastructure projects, optimize enterprise environments, and maintain security posture. This position will work closely with business units, internal IT teams, and strategic partners to support Entergy's evolution into a modern, agile enterprise while maintaining the reliability expected from a leading utility company. The role requires a balance of technical skills, cross-functional collaboration, hands-on engineering, a strong emphasis on automation, cloud integration, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: Implement and optimize Wintel-based infrastructure solutions, including Windows physical and virtual server infrastructure, and AWS cloud environments. Maintain Nutanix clusters (AHV/ESXi), manage Prism Central, DR, and cloud platforms. VMware deployments, upgrades, and performance tuning. Manage vCenter, ESXi hosts, and virtual networking/storage. Plan and execute migrations from legacy systems to modern HCI and virtualized platforms, ensuring minimal downtime and risk. Implement security best practices across infrastructure layers, including patching, vulnerability management, and compliance with industry standards and benchmarks. Use tools like VCenter, Prism, TSCO, Splunk and Windows Performance Monitor to proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, lead technical workshops, and deliver high-impact solutions. Produce detailed documentation and provide training to internal teams. Manage and resolve IT incidents and service tasks swiftly and effectively by following ITIL processes, coordinating with cross-functional teams, ensuring timely stakeholder communication, and contributing to continual service improvement through reporting, analysis, and adherence to best practices. Participate in the IT change management process by submitting, reviewing, and approving change requests related to Windows servers and infrastructure components. Contribute to On call rotations as required Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience 5+ years of experience in IT consulting or systems administration with a focus on Windows and virtualized environments Cloud based expertise, Azure, AWS Experience Microsoft Windows Server, Group Policy, VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, Nutanix HCI (AHV), Prism Central, Files PowerShell scripting and other automation tools such as Ansible Strong understanding of networking, storage, and disaster recovery concepts Excellent communication, documentation, and client-facing skills Ability to travel up to 25% required Able to Participate in On-Call rotations Preferred Qualifications: Microsoft certifications (e.g., Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Azure Administrator Associate) VMware Certified Professional (VCP) and/or Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP) Experience with hybrid cloud integration (Azure, AWS, or GCP) Familiarity with backup and DR tools (Commvault, VMware SRM) Experience with enterprise management platforms such as BigFix, TSCO, Cisco UCS Manager, Open Manage Enterprise Why Join Us: At Entergy, we're powering the futureand that includes modernizing our IT landscape.
