$103,000.00/yr - $115,000.00/yr GES seeks a Network Engineer for our Defense Enclave Services (DES) team to support digital modernization programs critical to DISA and Fourth Estate Agencies. This is a Monday-Friday day shift, with flexibility for shift changes based on mission needs. Security Clearance:
Must hold an active Secret security clearance. US Citizenship required. Primary Responsibilities
Design, maintain, and operate LANs, WANs, wireless, internet connectivity, and network security. Maintain existing network equipment and install new equipment in plant environments. Optimize system performance and manage data flow. Conduct data captures for network performance analysis. Reduce network latency and maximize throughput using performance monitoring tools. Contribute to network and mission architecture design, including configuration, deployment, testing, and maintenance of network devices. Configure and optimize networks to connect front-end and back-end components. Gather data to specify system performance and interface requirements. Implement network solutions such as load-balancing, VPNs, firewalls, VoIP, IPSec, NAT, MoIP, etc. Support flexible working hours, including occasional on-call support and additional hours as needed. Basic Qualifications
Knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IS-IS). Knowledge of TCP/IP, ACL, NAT, SDWAN, QoS, high availability, VoIP, wireless, DHCP, DNS. Strong hardware troubleshooting skills. Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience in network engineering, or equivalent experience. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills. Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment. Must have DoD IAT Level II baseline certification (Sec+), prior to start. Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of wireless systems, digital and analog circuitry. Proficiency with Cisco IOS, IP networking architectures, and voice services. Expertise in IP principles. Proficiency with Cisco routers, Palo Alto Firewalls, switches, KG175, and tools like Science Logic, Catalyst Center, Ansible Tower. CCNP Enterprise certification preferred. Experience with DISA STIGs and security controls like firewalls, IPS, IDS. Experience with security patches, VPNs, and security device tuning. Location: Hybrid
