Client is seeking a skilled
Workday Data Conversion Developer
to support the data migration workstream for URI's Workday implementation. This technical role is responsible for developing, executing, and validating data extracts from URI's legacy PeopleSoft HCM, Finance, and Payroll systems, transforming and preparing data files, and supporting the successful load into Workday. The Data Conversion Developer will work under the direction of the Data Migration Lead, collaborating closely with both functional and technical project teams.
Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and execute data extracts from PeopleSoft HCM, Finance, and Payroll systems in support of URI's Workday migration. Transform and cleanse source data using ETL tools, scripts, or Workday-provided utilities according to project requirements. Build and validate data files for Workday data loading (including EIB, Workday Studio, and related tools). Participate in data mapping, data validation, and reconciliation activities. Collaborate with URI's functional, technical, and business stakeholders to resolve data-related issues and clarify requirements. Assist with troubleshooting, error resolution, and performance tuning of data migration processes. Support data validation, parallel testing, and cutover activities as part of migration cycles. Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to data conversion processes, scripts, and mappings.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Hands-on experience with data conversion, ETL, or data integration for ERP/HCM/Finance systems. Demonstrated experience with PeopleSoft data structures (HCM, Finance, Payroll) and extracting data from Oracle/SQL databases. Experience using ETL tools such as Workday Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Workday Studio, Talend, Informatica, Alteryx, SQL, or similar. Strong skills in data transformation, cleansing, and reconciliation. Experience preparing data files for Workday data loads. Familiarity with data migration best practices, testing, and documentation. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative project team.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Workday data conversion projects, preferably in higher education. Experience with Workday integrations (EIB, Studio, Core Connectors). Experience with higher education data and business processes. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
