Job Summary: Aalis Management Consulting seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain mission-critical software solutions that enhance military personnel readiness, talent management, and data-driven decision-making. The ideal candidate will have expertise in modern software development, cloud-native architectures, and DoD cybersecurity standards to support enterprise-level applications used across the DoD workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy secure, scalable software applications supporting personnel management, training, and readiness analytics.
• Modernize legacy systems using cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), microservices, and DevSecOps pipelines.
• Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies (RMF, STIGs, NIST SP 800-53) throughout the SDLC.
• Collaborate with data scientists, UX designers, and DoD stakeholders to translate requirements into high-performance software.
• Implement APIs, data integrations, and middleware to connect DoD systems (e.g., DEERS, HR systems, MHS Genesis).
• Conduct code reviews, vulnerability scans, and ATO support for DoD accreditation.
• Mentor junior engineers and advocate for best practices for Agile, CI/CD, and automation.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
• 5+ years in software development (Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript).
• 3+ years with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Experience with DoD software development standards (e.g., FIPS 140-2, ICD 503).
• Backend: Spring Boot, .NET Core, Node.js
• Frontend: React, Angular, or Vue.js
• Databases: SQL (PostgreSQL, Oracle), NoSQL (MongoDB)
• DevSecOps: GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, SonarQube

Certifications (Preferred):

• AWS/Azure Certified Developer
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II (e.g., Security+ CE, CISSP)
• Certified Scrum Developer (CSD)
