Our Career Development Program assists over assisting 280 participants with their employment endeavors.

Staff are trained to assist participants with achieving and maintaining competitive employment and are involved in all aspects of career planning and development.
This includes, but is not limited to the Intake Assessments, Pre-Employment Planning/Job development, Job Placement, Job Coaching and Job Stability.
Participants may interview for and/or obtain employment throughout Westchester County, NY with various different types of businesses/employers.
Our Employment Specialists have the opportunity to spend a lot of their time out in the community but also have a home base out of Chappaqua, NY.
This vacant position will provide services under the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) Supported Employment (SEMP) department.
Some of the services that will be provided by an Employment Specialist (ES) are; Intake Assessment- conducting a thorough assessment to determine the employment factors and also the subsequent steps for successful career development.
Family members are encouraged to participant in this meeting.
Pre-employment/ job development- Assisting participants with developing and implementing an Intensive Service Plan (ISP).
Pre-employment activities may include discovery, strength based assessments, résumé writing, mock interviews, and informational interviews.
This can also include assisting participants with locating and applying to suitable employment opportunities and accompanying participants to all scheduled interview sessions with potential employers.
Job placements- Assisting participants with getting adjusted and acclimated to their work environment.
Job stability- After ninety days of successful employment and, based on the participant’s ability to perform their tasks, staff and participants will transition to a less involved job stability model. PandoLogic.
