Estimator/Project Engineer Location:
Poseyville, Indiana Reports To:
Engineering Manager As an
Estimator/Project Engineer , you will work directly with our customer base and members of our Business Development Team to provide accurate proposals or estimates of customer projects by gathering necessary information and analyzing important metrics. Projects include miscellaneous metal, material handling, and modular building projects across industries such as Heavy Industrial, Manufacturing, Commercial Construction, and Public Works. Key Responsibilities: Communicate directly with customers to address challenges with proposed solutions. Read, understand, and interpret job bid instructions, construction documents, blueprints, and specifications for estimates. Collaborate with team members, suppliers, and subcontractors to produce project estimates. Identify cost-saving opportunities proactively while maintaining quality. Manage multiple estimates and deadlines accurately and professionally. Coordinate with shop and field teams to validate feasibility and scope assumptions. Stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and material availability to improve estimate accuracy. Follow safety policies and use personal protective equipment as required. Contribute positively to team environment and organizational growth. Desired Qualifications: Knowledge of steel components and properties. Estimating experience preferred but not required if extensive trade experience is present. Ability to read design drawings. Highly organized with attention to detail. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
