Schedule and hours, Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm, no weekends or holidays!

Responsibilities
Clinical Registered Nurse to work Outpatient Wound Care and HBO Center (WC&HBOC) as a member of the nursing team providing direct patient care and case management to patients by performing specific wound / skin assessments and treatments, as well as the evaluation and monitoring of patient(s) progress through discharge. Additionally collaborates with the patient, family and/or caregiver to provide education related to wound care management and acts as a patient advocate in the delivery and coordination of wound care. Recognizes and respects the effects of cultural, ethnic and linguistic differences on health care practices. Delivers ethical nursing care, and, within scope of practice coordinates the delivery of care, ensuring that patient’s needs are met. Provides patient care in accordance with professional nursing wound care practice standards, through physician orders, WC&HBOC policies and procedures, and follows federal, state and local guidelines.
Utilizes age specific competencies required include toddler, school age, pre-teen, teenager, young adulthood through geriatrics. Assesses and evaluates patients with wounds, injuries or skin alterations. Documents wound types, and analyzing healing trends of all wounds. Assesses and evaluates wounds for infections or patient co-morbidities that contribute to wound non-healing. Develops and implements individual patient care treatment plans, in collaboration with patient and the physician, to managing acute and chronic wounds following WC&HBOC treatment policies and protocols. Collaborates with Program Director, RN Clinical Coordinator, Nursing team, Physicians and other health care providers in meeting patient needs. Educates and counsels patients, their families and/or caretakers on wound care processes, treatment plans and wound care self-management. Act as patient advocate in delivery and coordination of patient care. Manages multiple patients at the same time with high energy and organization. Performs medical surveillance and clinical reporting analysis. Attends monthly WC&HBOC multidisciplinary QA meetings Supports hospital-wide and unit based Nursing Shared Governance framework and initiatives.
Qualifications
Current CT Registered Nurse License Minimum 2 years recent clinical medical surgical experience preferred BSN preferred CWCA or CWON certification strongly preferred To obtain Wound Care RN specialty certification upon eligibility Must attend Wound Care and HBO training
