PACO Group, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Project Coordinator to support Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) capital projects under the Passenger Facilities Construction (PFAC) program. Working alongside project managers, engineers, and contractors, you will track progress from pre-procurement through construction, consolidate status data, and ensure all deliverables align with WMATA standards for scope, schedule, budget, and safety.
Scope of Work
Serve as the organizational hub for multi-disciplinary station-upgrade initiatives. You will monitor day-to-day activities, compile accurate progress reports, and facilitate clear communication among WMATA stakeholders, consultants, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Tracking
Maintain thorough knowledge of project plans, specifications, construction schedules, contractor work plans, the Project Management Plan, and current safety regulations.
Monitor and report on the daily status of pre-procurement, procurement, design support, and construction tasks.
Coordinate scopes of work and work packages; assist in developing construction schedules and supporting correspondence for WMATA Task Manager approval.
Stakeholder & Document Management
Liaise with WMATA departments to align priorities, resolve issues, and maintain project momentum.
Help prepare project status reports that track schedule adherence, budget performance, and staffing forecasts.
Support financial reporting and documentation tasks, ensuring records are accurate and readily accessible.
Additional Support
Perform other project-related duties as assigned by WMATA's Task Manager-such as meeting minutes, data entry in Procore, and ad-hoc analyses.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred .
In lieu of a degree : 7 years of relevant experience, including 2 years in the transit sector.
5 years in project or construction management, with at least 2 years on large transit projects preferred.
Proven ability to coordinate complex projects with constrained schedules and multi-million-dollar budgets.
Technical Skills
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Teams, Power BI).
Experience with construction-management platforms- Procore strongly preferred.
Soft Skills
Strong organizational and time-management abilities; capable of juggling competing priorities.
Clear written and verbal communicator with solid technical-writing skills.
Preferred Credentials
Familiarity with WMATA processes and procedures.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
