The Phlebotomist III-Float draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.The Phlebotomist III-Float has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. This position provides coverage at multiple locations for multiple roles and must ensure that daily activities of the Patient Service Center, Mobile, Long Term Care, or In-Office Phlebotomy sites are completed accurately and on time.The Phlebotomist III-Float demonstrates leadership behaviors, with a focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy in patient information.Successful applicants may be assigned to work and direct daily activity in a doctor's office, a patient service center, a house call environment, long-term care, or as business needs dictate. The individual must be able to step in for another Phlebotomist III-Float and lead one or more PSRs on-site.Additional responsibilities include acting as coach, mentor, instructor, and resource advisor for new employees, providing onboarding services to new clients, serving as a point of contact for on-site staff, and giving regular input to the group lead or supervisor.This role may also focus on working with high-complexity and/or high-volume practices, requiring outstanding phlebotomy skills, and higher-level customer-facing capabilities, including verbal and written communications, problem solving, and collaboration with functions such as Sales, Laboratory Testing Services, IT, Billing, and Logistics due to specialized and/or complex test orders.The Phlebotomist III-Float must be capable of handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.Qualification:Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred Phlebotomy certification preferred (Required in California, Nevada, and Washington)Work Experience: Five years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections Minimum three (3) years in a PSC/IOP environment preferred Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred Keyboard/data entry experienceBenefits: Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans 401k Retirement FundAbout the Company:Leading provider of diagnostic information services, empowering healthier lives.
