Executive Sous Chef – Mojo Restaurants

Locations: Forest Hills & Rockville Centre, NY
Schedule: 5–6 days/week | 50–55 hours/week
Salary Range: $75,000–$90,000/year
Employment Type: Full-Time

Mojo, a bold Latin-inspired full-service restaurant brand, is seeking a forward-thinking Executive Sous Chef to support culinary operations across our Forest Hills and Rockville Centre locations. This role works directly under Executive Chef Ventura Lozano and is ideal for a culinary leader who is passionate about flavor, quality, and pushing brand identity through innovative food.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and support BOH operations across both Mojo locations

  • Uphold high standards for food quality, consistency, and presentation

  • Collaborate on seasonal menus and contribute trend-forward culinary ideas

  • Train, coach, and hold kitchen staff accountable to brand standards

  • Oversee inventory, food costing, and vendor management

  • Ensure food safety and sanitation compliance at all times

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years in kitchen leadership (preferably in upscale or high-volume full-service restaurants)

  • Advanced culinary knowledge and a trendsetter mentality

  • Passion for Latin/Caribbean cuisine and flavor-driven dishes

  • NYC and/or Nassau County Food Handler’s Certification

  • Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle (travel between locations required)

  • Strong organizational, communication, and mentoring skills

  • Committed, driven, and reliable with a hands-on leadership style

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Salary: $75,000–$90,000 (based on experience)
